View Full Version : IfoEdit, CCE and how to get correct chapter points?

I just re-encoded a dvd with CCE and was authoring the .m2v file in IfoEdit, but the Celltimes.txt file I told IfoEdit to use put chapter breaks in some pretty funny locations, certainly not where they were in the original DVD.

I extracted the celltimes with IfoEdit from the original VTS_01_0.ifo file, under the VTS_PGCITI / VTS_PGC_1 tree and got a text file with 26 lines of numbers, which I thought would correspond to the 26 chapters in the movie. The first number started at about 12000, should it start at 0 if chapter 1 is going to be the very beginning of the movie?

I don't know where along the way the chapters could have been messed up. I originally ripped the DVD using the main movie only guide, and all the chapters were fine at that point. The i reencoded the ripped part with CCE and then authored in IfoEdit. Any know where/why the chapter points from the ripped original IFO would not point to the right places in the re-encoded movie IFO? Thanks for your help

Does this problem have anything to do with the Remux-ing in IfoEdit w/ CCE input in this thread:

I wasn't using the Remux option, but perhaps i'm missing something

If this is an NTSC with 3:2 pulldown IFOEdit will not author correctly. I switched to DVD Maestro a couple months back.
