Hello,

I just tried flashing my Lite-on LTD-165H to newer firmware listed on http://digi.rpc1.org/binaries.htm
I tried flashing to the latest CH11 firmware. Then I started having problems ripping. In DVDDecrypter, I got brute force failure errors. I then downgraded to the CH0Z firmware and had the same problems. I don't know which firmware was originally on the drive, but I downgraded once again to the CHOH firmware. Everything is working fine once again.

The only reason I tried updating the firmware was so that the drive will read these cheap @$$ Princo DVD-Rs. While they were readable on the CH11 and CH0Z firmwares, they wouldn't read with the original firmware on the drive, or with the CHOH firmware.

Has anyone else run into these problems? Anyone with this drive know of a stable firmware version for this drive later than the CHOH version? I don't want to keep flashing the drive and risking problems. If anyone has a working firmware version, I would greatly appreciate some advice.

Thanks

The most earlier firmware release for you drive seem to be CHOE.
just visit this (http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=1&manufactor=17) page and D/L whatever firmware you like.

Yes, the CH0E is probably the version of firmware that was originally on this drive. I want to put a newer version on so that the drive will read this Princo crap. I was hoping to save myself a ton of flashing, but I will try every version until I get one that is good for ripping and that works with these discs (if possible). I will post my results when I am done so that it will be here in case someone else has the same problem later on down the road.
