I am looking for a subtitle format that will extract the subtitles as pictures (like .sub) and will be able to playback with DirectVobSub without the need to have any other files than the subtitle file on the CD.

The .sub format would be good if only I didn't need to burn the ,idx and .ifo files on the CS as well.

Is there any format that will fulfill my demands ?

Thanks.

I believe Substation Alfa supports showing pictures at specified time intervals. Think there's an automated process for making this, but I'm not sure.

You'd end up with an *.ssa file (textfile index with timestamps and picturefile references), and a whole load of images.

Don't know i DVobSub supports this function in SSA subs though... and I don't know why you want to keep the subtitles as pictures either ;)

I wanna keep the subs as pictures cause ORC and spell checking through word takes me around 45 min for each movie... ;)

Then vobsub is the answer. You'll simply have to live with 2-3 files instead of 1. Why that bothers you is beyond me ;)
