OK, there are a few changes not documented in the manual:

1.
A new "1st pass of multipass VBR" encoding mode. Probably just creates the VAF file.

2.
A new "Multipass CBR" encoding mode. What the hell is multipass CBR supposed to achieve? :)

3.
"Upper field first" video option no longer exists

4.
A new "Make room for USCC" video option (no idea what that is)

5.
A new "Offset line" edit option in video settings. Again, no idea what that's supposed to mean.

Haven't tried it yet, but here's the change log from version 2.66.01.07:

Version 2.67.00.08 Wednesday, February 19, 2003

Bug Fix
- File extensions was not properly set when multipass CBR was selected.

----------

Version 2.67.00.07 Wednesday, February 5, 2003

Changes
- Modified encoder engine.

Bug Fix
- Fixed miscellaneous bugs.

----------

No mention of versions 2.67.00.01-6. It's also odd that this release has a .00.0x version number as all previous releases have been .01.0x, perhaps this is a beta. I'm assuming "Multipass CBR" is a typo, as it doesn't make sense.

EDIT: looks like RB posted while I was typing, "Multipass CBR"? I'm in the middle of a encode now so I'll have to play with this later.

"upper field first" option is replaced by "Offset line" option.

Here is the detail to adjust it :

This parameter specifies offset lines from which encoding starts. If the
source is top field first, specify 0 or even number, otherwise, specify 1 or add number. For example, if the source is DV, specify 1. If this setting is incorrect, the movement of a encoded video will be jerky.
This setting is valid only in MPEG-2 encoding mode.

Thanks. Looks like you have a newer version of the manual. Where did you get it?

So for progressive frames, offset line should be set to 0, right?

Interesting that they'd relabel "upper field first" with the new name (offset). They never properly handled lower field interlaced content, so it seems maybe they still don't.
