a while ago, i posted a few questions about a problem i have: i had no sound with an excellent video .avi file.
i was adviced to download an ac3 filter and then i had sound, but it was not synchronized with the video, but none of the solutions for that problem you suggested me worked
after closer examination it seems that the video can't keep up with the audio (every 2 seconds it skips forward)and now i have that problem with all the video files i try to play

i have Win2k and when you single-click a file, you get a little preview of the movie at the left hand side of the window, when i play it there, the synch is correct

i have a PIII 600 with 192Mb RAM, so i don't think that is the problem, and by the way, all my other files worked perfectly before

i also tried to dl other versions of the ac3 filter and none of them worked either so that's not it either

i don't know what to do anymore!!

i checked and it happens with all the .avi's i downloaded after installing ac3 filter
uninstalling it doesn't help

every file is affected by the filter (i think that answers your question)

thx already

I think you need to make sure it's been completely unistalled from you system. Check your registry for any AC3 entries left behind.

It sounds like all your movies are being played by the same filter, you need to download graphedit and render one of you movies into it. Once you loaded it, it will show you which filter is being used to decode the audio.

i COMPLETELY uninstalled ac3 and rendered the original 'problem file' in Graphedit
it has no sound, so that's back as it was
all the other files that i downloaded after installing ac3, the audio is still off and the video still skips, even when i play them in Graphedit

and did you try Vlad's AC3-filter or where did you get that decoder? and also excellent Re-Clock filter that can be found on general discussion -section.
