Hi,I'm familiar w/ making dvd-r backups and burning cds etc. However, I've been reluctant to convert my digital home movies onto dvd-r. I own a Pioneer A05 and I can't seem to find a guide for converting my movies to dvd-r. I know there are programs like Ulead movie factory and videostudio, but I've read bad reviews about them on Cnet.

Basically, I'm going to transfer it through firewire from my digital camcorder, so I need a capture program (I hear Tempeg is recommended but I wouldn't know how to burn after that). I was wondering if there is a good highly program that can do the entire capture and burn for me. Right now, I'm clueless. Any help is always apprecited. Thanks in advance.

Im sure there are better/easier/faster/sure to bring about world peace/ ways, but this is how I do it.

1.Use Ulead Videostudio to capture the DV.
2.Encode the DV avi file to dvd compliant mpeg2 using tmpgenc, use the wizard to check your avi file & allow you to set bitrate.
3.Author to dvd title set with Ifoedit (just requires you to make a chapter file 'celltimes.txt')
5.Burn to dvdr with Nero.

There are guides here at doom9 and at www.dvdrhelp.com for the above steps.
