Hi,

I have transferred a few VHS tapes to DVD. I used Movie Maker for capturing, TMPGEnc for encoding and ULead DVD Movie Factory for authoring and burning. I used Pioneer and Ritek DVD-R media and Pioneer A04 burner.
Now when I'm playing the DVDs in my standalone Panasonic DVD-RV32, almost all is perfect - menus, chapters, playback. But fast foward/rewind does not always work. The point is that now it can work and then not work on the same chapter, the same video fragment. Usually it works for the first time it's selected for a given chapter - the it stops working (the player just displays the appropriate "No" icon), and resumes working only after this chapter is selected again.
For example:
Select Chapter 1 OK
Play OK
Fast Forward OK
Play OK
Fast Forward OK
Play OK
Fast Forward Fail
Rewind Fail
Play OK
Stop OK
Select Chapter 1 OK
Play OK
Fast Forward OK
Play OK
Fast Forward Fail
etc

This is not a problem of the particular player, since my daughter's player (of the same brand) exhibits the same behaviour on the same DVDs.

Thank you

Here are some suggestions:

1. Use quality discs
2. Run "Get VTS Sectors" in IfoEdit
3. Burn from an image
4. Burn at lower speed
