Don't upgrade to Movie Maker 2 from Microsoft

I like to transfer old movies to my computer using the analog digital passthru on my miniDV camera. Normally I can do this, but since I updated Windows XP's movie maker program, it expects a tape to be in the miniDV camcorder and it automatically plays the tape!! It has no provision for doing pass thru.

Now I need to find another easy way to transfer the video over...sigh

Take the tape out from your camcorder. You can also try DVIO or DVapp (freewares).
