I attempted to use the built-in burning utility of Instant Copy on the .pdi files, but at approximately 95% during a simulated burn, I had a media failure error.
I am using Princo 1x media, with a Sony DRU-500A burner. I have burned about 15 DVDs prior to this using this media and RecordNow Max and have had a 100 percent success rate. This leads me to conclude there is an incompatibility between Instant Copy and my setup. (IC v70091)
Can anyone comment on this and maybe indicate why I got this error?

Get pdixtract from an forum thread here, then extract the .pdi and use RecordNowMax with it. Works fine and you can insert the missing AUDIO_TS directory.

Aha! So you don't have to run IFOEdit on the resulting files from pdixtract?

I've done a couple of DVDs now with IC7. I needed IfoEdit only if I exchanged one of the VOB-sets afterwards. (Before the F5 hack I've usually processed one of the extras in a first pass with very low quality to raise the Q on the main movie. I a second run I processed this extra separately with higher Q. This needed naturly a adjustment of the sector addresses).
Currently there is a (unsolved) debate about IFO postprocessing of IC generated IFOs. I have the following obeservations:
- If I keep all menus and extras, neither IFOedit nor IFOupdate change anything in Get VTS sectors
- If I remove so many titles, that whole VOBsets disappear (i.e. there is no VTS_02_1.VOB any longer) IfoEdit changes the sector addresses from 0 to 15 but IfoUpdate agrees with InstantCopy and changes this back from 15 to 0.
I guess, either case is pointless since there are no references in the Program Chains to the non-existant VOBsets.
