Hello everyone!

I have tried to solve this problem for weeks, have searched the forum many times, but can't find a solution. Since I'm one of those beginners, I thought that someone more experienced could give me a hint by instantly seeing the problem.

System: WinXP, Athlon XP 1900, 256 DDR, 10 GB HD free on partition (30 total on partition)
DVD: 1. Dogtown and Z Boys, NTSC, 4:3
2. Paradise Lost 2, NTSC, 4:3

Problem: The process stops at 75% after "AVS END" while the encode popup is still open. Nothing every happens, but there is no error message. I have finished sound files, but no movie.

Sounds like the famous CCE Freeze/crash problem. There is tons of info on this subject already on the forum.
Try a search for CCE Freeze or CCE crash.

Hey markrb,

thanks for the quick reply. I have actually tried everything there is to try to solve the cce freeze problem, because CCE used to freeze, as in, the process bar would stop moving at a certain percentage. With every new DVD2SVCD version the problem looked different. So this time CCE must have crashed, therefore it looked like DVD2SVCD was just not going on to the next step (the popup box I was talking about was the encoding box where it has the options of encode and cancel I think).

One thing I would like to add is that it used to work. I have created several backups this way, and haven't had any hardware changes. I did read something about people with WinXP having the same issue, and that it worked again after a clean WinXP re-install.

So, thank you for your time. I think I'll look into TMPG and the new encoder you introduced with the latest version.

just try with the previous version of dvd2svcd,1.1.1 B2 should be fine
The same thing it happens to me with the last version, i think a bug in dvd2svcd.

shutt1e This is an old and recurring issue with some computers. It has nothing to do with the version of DVD2SVCD.

The new version of DVD2SVCD feels much smoother to me actually.

I know it has nothing to do with DVD2SVCD, but I've been trying to get through a conversion for weeks now, switching back and forth between CCE 2.5 and CCE 2.62, while going through the whole list in the FAQ. After installing the latest version of DVD2SVCD (1.1.2 build 1), I've tried it again using CCE 2.62. When that failed again I posted this thread.

Last night the only change I made was switch back to CCE 2.5, my very last shot at trying to get it to work using the CCE encoder. This morning the conversion had finished successfully and I've got a great backup. Beats me.

Thanks for reading, and for all the great help on this board!
