Koepi, obviously you did not include latest DS-filter from NIC, which he had released in his latest 16-02-2003 build. He claims to have solved the black&white bug along with a new feature he introduced: force color space output.
Well, ATM, I have no time to test myself to verify.
Are there any reasons you stick to the "CVS".ax?
Another typically non-programmer question:
NICs DSF is huge (373 KB) compared to yours with only 60KB.
How come?
Congrats to the new build!

My filter is designed to be a standalone so that it doesnt need xvid.dll to decode the video. Hence its size. Do people think I should go back to relying on xvid.dll? or do people prefer it as a standalone?
It should be safe now for Koepi to include my filter, as I havent found any bugs with it yet. But thats only if Koepi wants.

@Nic,
of course I want to use your DSF :) (But loved the smaller download size my binary had due to the dll-dependant DSF ;) ) Can you upload the xvid.ax alone on your site again so I can make a new standalone-decoder installer again?
Thanks a million,
best regards

I think its pretty solid as far as I can tell. :)
It is pretty huge, maybe the cvs should have #ifdef's to cut off all encoding code from the core ;)
(just kidding BTW, that would be a messy nightmare ;) )
Cheers,

Thanks for the file Nic! You're a star :)
I need to eat something now, and later today I will upload the new standalone decoder. Should I send it to you too, Nic?
Best regards

Hmmm, no its ok. I can always grab it from your site :) I still have the .nsi script to build it myself if need be :)
I just ate a box of jaffa cakes and 3 packets of crips, time to get back to work :)

@Nic,
Your latest XviD's DSF dated 16-02-2003 is nice ;)
I just use it on my AthlonXP machine, Win2k SP3, with no problem.
The seeking problem is gone :)
Thank you.
PS. I just can't use the Force output feature, the result is all black frames, it's maybe because of my old Detonator driver :(

@Koepi
Could you please upload a NSIS intaller of Nic's DSF as you promised ?
I find it really usefull for my non-geek friends...
Thanks in advance
Pasqui.

That wasn't something I "promised".
But I have to admit, I totally forgot about it. There you go, it's online.
