View Full Version : Another aspect problrm

I'm trying to do Erin Brockovich and ran in the same problem I did with my Man w/ the golden gun rip. Again I used a 16:9 aspect ratio and it came out full screen. I also noticed that after I went thru my other rips they had the wrong ratio.

I've done these movies and the borders all came out to be different than what the dvd was.

-Superman II & III (both rips had 1" border while the dvds have a 2" border)
-Interview with the vampire (rip was full screen while dvd has a 1.25" border)

I guess what I'm wondering is if this latest rel. of dvd2svcd has a bug in it because this has just started happening recently.

Btw, here is my logfile from E. Brockovich.

Hi-

I begin to see your problem. You have the Aspect Ratio set properly, but you have neither a Resize line, nor an AddBorders line in the .avs. So, unless you edited the .avs yourself to remove those lines (don't know why you'd do that), or have been messing around in the SVCD_Settings.ini and screwed something up by mistake, I have no idea why that would occur.

My suggestion is to either reinstall your DVD2SVCD, or better yet, install the new version listed on the news page. But this is kind of over my head, and perhaps markrb or another of the real experts has a better idea about what's going on.

Yes I see that. You are missing two lines in your AVS file.
You should have some sort of resize command ie.
Bicubicresize

and a border command ie

Addborder(??,??,??,??)

Both are missing. Did you edit the ini file? Did you edit the avs file and remove these lines?

I have not edited any of the ini files so I can't understand why those lines of code are missing...

I did run dvd2avi b4 like u suggested to find out the aspect ratio of the golden gun dvd so maybe that could have caused the problem.

I will go ahead and install the new version and post my results.

Thx

When you do install the new version make sure that the directory has been deleted as well when you uninstall the old version. If there are edited files in there they will stay and this could be causing a problem.
