Hi DSP guru, and others
As a newbie i have tried and compared all sound codecs.
For 44Khz i like Fraunhoffer Codecs. BeSweet Lame Codecs is too crispy.
For 48Khz especcially very low freq that must be available on THX movies, MP3 is shutter expecially the THX logo started.
I finally find that Valex AC3 filter has ability to break Dolby Surround Prologic AC3 4.0 that recorded stereo to 4 output, 2 front 2 surround. So the 5.1 AC3 can be downmixed to Dolby Surround AC3 to saving the space with only 128Kbit/s.
The problem is there's no filter for software dolby decoder for my old mp3 movies....? Is there ?

You can try with PowerDVD. It has Pro Logic II decoder but I don't know how it works...

Otherwise I'm working on Dolby Surround decoder filter. I hope I'll make it soon! :D

You can try to test this:

Dolby Surround DirectShow Filter (http://dna2002.hit.bg/index.html)

This should work as dolby surround decoder. Any proposals and ideas are welcome.

Tested the PowerDVD filters via GraphEdit some time ago. Not too happy with the result ...

The Moonlight Odio Dekoda from Elecard works fine (I'm using it for 4-channel surround for mp3 and AC3 soundtracks).

Get it here: http://www.moonlight.co.il/download/OdioDec.zip
