avi file, sound and video not synchronized

a while ago, i've posted a question about how to get sound to one of my .avi files that didn't have any
i then downloaded an ac3 filter and got sound, but it's not synchronized with the video!! it's off about 5 secs
sometimes the video stalls to synchronize, but it only stays good for about 2 secs!!
let me tell you, it's bloody difficult to follow, especially with a movie like 'sum of all fears'!!

load it into virtualdubmod or virtualdub, choose direct stream copy for both video and audio, save your avi.

PS: it also could be that your processor is too slow to handle the playback (assuming by the symptoms you described!)
