Hi everybody I new at Scenarist and I have a few question to ask. I am doing a music DVD so I have like 20 vob files. I demuxed them into m2v and ac3 already. And here's my simple newbie basic questions.

1. Since I have 20 files to author. So I have to create a project that has 20 vts in my Scenario right ?? Is that what VTS means right? It means that it's where I drop my main music videos in and author right ??

2. What is PGC ?? I know the First PGC is my "first play". So what is PGC? Because I know if I go to Tools and I can create a new/another PGC. So I was wondering what is PGC ???

3.After I imported my motion menu and created buttons, how do I connect or point the buttons to my video clips for each buttons?

4. If my question #1 is correct that I have to have a project with 20 vts for my 20 files. How do I connect each file/video clips so that it will play continuously. Because I know in ReelDVD I have to manually connect each file.

I am really confuse...soo Please answere in plain and explain in plain english...because i am not that good in terminology...thanks..

P.S. I am using Scenarist 2.7

Scenarist is not for the faint of heart. I always recommend getting a good understanding of DVDs before tackling it. One good source is "DVD Demystified" by Jim Taylor.

I just went through my first Scenarist trips myself, so I think I can advice a bit here. Put Scenarist aside, do some searches on DVD basics (IFO, VOB, PGC, Cells, VTS, VobId, ...). I can assure you if you don't do this first, you are going to be stuck very quickly in SCenarist.
I went through many basic readings, guides and software here before I could finally author something. And thanks to the great guides you can get here at Doom9.
So please read on, spend the time it takes and then come back with precise questions on your process.

I hope I'm not sounding rude here, this is just a recommendation so you don't get frustrated too soon by dealing with Scenarist from scratch.

"Right ?" :D

ohh ok thanks for the advice....and yes I did authored many dvd using Maestro. I guess I good in Maestro. I work Maestro to it's extends. Their not alot of little options like Scenarist. The only powerful thing that I think that Maestro has is the auto-action, which Scenarist has, and even better options.

I am sorry about asking basic simple questions. It's just that I read alot of stuff and trying out alot of software already. I've worked and authored with Maestro and ReelDVD 3.0. I have no problem working with those 2 software. It's just the with Scenarist there're so many words and terms that I heard of and not sure what they really are. That's why I ask to that it'll clear me up. And giving the fact that English is not my best out of 3 languages...

So far I've worked with Scenarist and got some confusing that's all...

If you want to make them all play continuously, you can drag them all into the same PGC (Program Chain). If you have all the tracks ready in Scenarist, go into the Scenario Editor and when you drag one into the VTS, you will see a couple other cells pop open below it. What you want to do next is drag each successive track into that First PGC that was created underneath the VTS folder, and you will see a line connecting that first track to the next one. Keep dragging each new track into that same first PGC and they will all play in the order you drag them in. Now you may find that they get out of sync though, that's because Scenarist sucks at this. As to the menu, not sure how you are making the menu, but you need to try to keep it in the same VTS as the other elements, just start in the Scenario editor by "adding language" to that VTS folder, then select whatever language it is, then drag your menu into that language folder, then you can drag all the other tracks into that same VTS (and then drag the others into the PGC created below it). If you stay in that same VTS you should be able to link everything that way too.
