View Full Version : Where to get Riteks and be sure they are actually Riteks in the states?

I need to get some discs and I think I will try a 50 pack of the Riteks. I haven't decided whether to get the 03's or the 04's yet, but that is sort of a price thing at this point and not a brand thing.
What bothers me is hearing about all the places that are selling other media as Riteks.
Where can I get a 50 pack or so of the Ritek DVD-R discs for a good price and be sure they are what they say they are? I really don't want to have to fight to get my money back if they are not real Riteks.
I have read as much as possible on this, but the more I find out the more confused I become.
Thanks,
Mark

I've never heard of anyone having problems with www.rima.com

I've gotten them from both Rima and shop4tech in the past and had no problems with either.

According to this thread Shop4tech is to be kept at arms length as they are selling other media as Riteks and not responding on RMA requests.

I've got them from Rima also, they have really great customer service. You actually get to talk to the people who work there. There was a problem with my credit card and they worked with me and my bank to get it resolved and my order shipped same day. I've burned about 20 of the spindle I bought and they play perfectly right to the end of the disc on my Panasonic RP62, my PlayStation 2 and DVDROM.
My only complaint is the price of Riteks is rising, I bought them at $79 for a 100 2-3 weeks ago and now they are $96. The other discs at Rima seem to be stable price, I guess the demand for Riteks must be high.
Next time I stock up :)

The only thing with Rima.com is that I don't see a 50 pack. I can only see a 25 and a 100 pack. Not a big deal if the price is in line.
I do see that they have gone up quite a bit. When I first got my recoder they were about 20% less, but this is everywhere I am checking and not just here.

The good news is Rima.com still has the 25s for 1.00 a piece. This is same price they were when I bought the 100s for .79. They probably adjust there prices as they run out of stock and have to reorder so for the time being the 25s seem a good deal.

I ordered some discs from a place, but after looking into it further I have my doubts and I am going to cancel the order and go with another vendor instead probably Rima.com.

I've bought a number of discs from both Hypermicro.com and Supermediastore.com and have never had a problem with either. In fact, I've done business with Hypermicro.com for years and have never had a single problem.

This doesn't surprise me. They've been great over the years. They even have an 800 number as part of their main company logo and they ANSWER! hehe Try finding ANY phone number for some of these damn places. You'd be hard pressed.

ohhowhappy -- you said you got Riteks from Shop4Tech at $1 each just last week?
Shop4Tech: 50 x $1.40

Shop4Tech: 100 x $1.29

Are Ritek prices that volatile?

Jeesh, at $1.40 a piece you are getting awfully close to the 4X ritek prices i've seen ($1.80).
I'm starting to get down to the end of my ritek spindle, this doesn't look good :(

atreides -- the Rima price is still good: $110 for a spindle of 100.

Rima doesn't have 50-packs in stock any more, they only have 25-packs ($28.75, or $1.15 each).
Shipping is $4 for UPS Ground. Okay so they're not ninety cents any more, but I haven't been able to find a lower price.

Crap, price just jumped again.
$1.25 each when ordering 500x ritek 1x speed DVD-R discs is just not right.

Anyone have a clue what's going on? Will the prices keep going up on ritek's?
I'm wondering if I should quickly buy another 100 pack at $110 in case they go up again.
