G'day all
im new here

anyway havent seen this on the forums and just worked it out late last week, if you have a + drive in particular in Explorer or My Computer it may just recognise your Drive as
DVD/CDRW combo

Now I dont know about you but I like my Computer window displaying my devices correctly

so using alittle registry editing you can have your drive something like

'DVD+RW Drive'

I would post a screenshot but the other comps encoding
anyway goto the following key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

Now add the following key under the Explorer Key:
DriveIcons

Now under that add another key, which will be named after the letter of the drive you wish to change, so if your DVD drive is D: then the next key you will add under DriveIcons will be simply:
D

Finally under the D key add one last key:
DefaultLabel

Now in the default label key edit the (default) value to be whatever you want the drive to be called eg
DVD+RW Drive

Restart your comp and wallah look in my computer and see your DVD drive actually named correctly not some crappy DVD/CDRW Combo.

Heres a pic in case the Instructions lost ya
