I had Pioneer A04, and burned some 50-60 backups of my DVDs without
any problems using VOB Instant CD/DVD 6.4. DVDs made with this worked
in everything (Pioneer, Sony, Samsung, Quadro, PS2, xBox...)

Few days ago, I have switched to Pioneer A05 and problems started.

Pioneer does not include Instant CD/DVD in package any more.
Instead, there is EasyCD Basic, wich supports data DVD only (not video).

My Instant CD/DVD was version 6.4 wich does not support A05, so I downloaded
update to 6.5. Now, it works, but DVDs made with it are not readable in
my standalone DVD player (also Pioneer).

I have tried with latest version of Nero, and it works, but it does not
work in some other players (Aiwa and PS2).

So, I had perfect system before, and now, I have bull....

Any ideas?

If you read the forum and you would learn that Nero is not the most compatible software. Try RecordNow Max or Prassi Primo DVD.

You can even use 100% freeware for burning:

=> mkisofs to create the image file
=> DVD Decryptor to burn it

markrb, as I said in previous post, Nero IS NOT most compatible software.

DVD burned with latest version of Nero does not work on most Aiwa players.

With VOB Instant CD/DVD, I have not such problems.

Didn't Nero fix their DVD problems in the latest 5.5.10 version? Even so, his problem was with Instant DVD not just Nero.

Maybe you should try Nero and just make sure you create an image first using ImgTools.

@jmartina

u might wanna try the method of making an image with imgtools then burn with dvddecrypter. I have a pioneer 105 and never had probs with this method:-)

Yes, I will probably have to use imgtools and DVDDecryptor or Nero
for image burning, but I had fantastic combination of A04 and
VOB Instant DVD, and now with A05 I have to use two programs and
vaste time for creating image.

Thank you for replies.

I have the A05 and I use RecordNow Max 4.5 with no problems. I havn't tried with Instant DVD/CD but Pioneer was recommending version 6.5 (which you have). Try the demo for RecordNow Max, I'm happy with it.

If you use ImageTools 0.99 and above, it lets you burn directly to DVD without creating the image first. That'll save you some time.

Let us know if it works for you.
