Hi all,
I followed all the guides on this websites regarding multi-pgcs and they worked all fine for me.
However I had a couple of multi-pgc movies which worked fine or seemed to worked and then somewhere in the movie (very often towards the end), the video freezes and you cna not watch the end
sometimes by just pressing menu and then selecting a scene, I can watch the end, sometimes the DVd player is completely frozen.
I have 2 examples which behaves that way or similar:
- bend it like beckham: towards the end, the movie freezes
- dance with the wolves (PAL version): somewhere in the movie at a chapter point, the video is the video from a previous chapter while the sound is the sound of the scene/chapter that should be played
My method is the one I have used so far for other multi-pgc discs:
- rip the entire DVD with dvd decryptor
- use ifoupdate in advanced cell modes to get the chapter points for CCE and scenarist
-use DV2AVI and VFApi to frameserve
- use CCE to reencode
- eventually use subrip
- use scenarist to reauthor (dropped all the assets, imported subtitles, then export scenario, use scenchap to add the chapter points from ifoupdate, create a new scenario, open scenarist and drop the track in the title then generate the layout)
- use ifoupdate to update the original ifo
- burn the dvd
