i tried ev'thing
even changed the sound card from sblive 5.1 to fortissimo III hercules but i still get pan&scan problems.
using also ac3 filter, avi mux (both latest) and doing "wings of desire" for the last 2 weeks (lots of slow panning scenes). I tried changing the interleave values after reading all the forums possible on ac3. maybe somebody can suggest some link to a specific guide. at the moment im using gknot (027) and divx 5. then muxing avimux (latest). today one thing came up to my mind: in gknot when configuring audio (no audio obviously) there's a cell "calculate frame-overhead" in the "interleaving & avi overhaed": should that be ticked or not? i mean ticked if using audio in gknot but if i use gknot only for video that cell should it be ticked?
w2k pro,

geforce 4 ti4600 (gainward)41.09 drivers,
asus a7v333 mobo
thanx in advance

You should try a soft called ReClock (h**p://ogo.nerim.net/reclockfilter/)
It solved all problems here !

If all else fails you could try muxing the avi with ac3 sound into an ogm container. Ogm doesn't use interleaving like avi.

What I meant was you can mux the ac3 into an ogm container. The easiest way is to mux the avi and ac3 as you normally would, open that avi in oggmux and mux into an ogm container. You will get a warning saying there is no audio track, just ignore this and the resultant file will have your video and ac3 audio in an ogm container.
