I am using v2.5b and after i have successfully made a conversion from mpg to avi then exit virtual dub I am unable to delete the avi file as it is locked by another program. I run auxsetup in vdub folder and am unable to un/install avisynth handler. The only way is to shutdown the shell completely, then I am able to uninstall the handler via auxsetup and then can delete the avi file, then I restart the shell via the windows task manager. If I reboot the files are still locked by avisynth - Anyone know whats going on ?

Please clarify your problem.

What's auxsetup? It isn't a part of AviSynth!

There is no way AviSynth can lock an AVI file - especially since it hasn't touched it. You're probably having a system problem, or virtual dub is playing a trick on you.

Scandisk!

this is a "special" XP problem and not due to avisynth!!
