Using the program DVD2DVD-R, I tried to backup a DVD-9 containing 6 episodes of a television program, 6.88 Gb in total. I compressed each episode to 60% (internally done using CCE) I copied the original menu and IFO files and updated them in IFO-edit so in the end I had the entire structure of the DVD-9 which fitted on a DVD±R.
When I play this on my computer, it works perfectly (internal player IFO-edit or PowerDVD). When I burn this on a DVD-RW or +RW and play it on my standalone player, the menu and episodes 1-4 play fine. The problem is episode 5 and 6: episode 5 starts and plays all the way through to the end but the display is shaky. Episode 6 doesn't start at all, as if the player can't find it. I have tested the DVD+RW in another standalone player with the same results. It does however play correctly in my PC. I have tried IFOupdate 0.65 but that didn't help either.
Any suggestions as to what the problem is and how I can fix episodes 5 and 6? If I can get these to play properly, this would be a very simple method of backing up a Multi PGC DVD.
