View Full Version : Invalid Title

Hi,

I'm still very new to this. Have read and printed and highlighted enough guides to turn my brain to mush. I have burned 3 DVD's successfully so far (out of 8 - OUCH!)

I thought I finally had the hang of things getting the last two in a row. Problem is with 'The Banger Sisters', my first movie under 4.36GB. I thought great, rip all files with DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0, burn it with Image Tools 0.99.1 (which I used to burn the last two successes).

DVD plays fine in my PC, but in stand-alone player I get "Invalid Title", any ideas?

Also, is it possible to use the DVD Decrypter ISO mode to read and write the DVD? I was worried about doing this since the file would be bigger than 4GB and I'm not using Win XP or Win 2000.

FYI: I have a Win ME PIII-933MHZ, 384MB, and a Cendyne DVD Writer (really a relabeled Pioneer DVR-105),.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated!
Bill

A couple of related questions...

1. Any idea what the "invalid title" means?

2. I don't have the original DVD anymore (just the ripped files on my HDD) what would you do to author a DVD from this point?

Note: The ripped files for 'The Banger Sisters' total 4.26GB for everything (all the .vob's, .ifo's, and .bup's)

Thanks for any help, and Doom9 thanks for the awesome forum.

Your standalone might be detecting a missing file that is pertaining your title needed. I know you're still new to the game but can you post, exactly, every file you've got in your DVD? That's a start. From there, maybe you have an error in your DVD navigations?

I have all the VOB's, BUP's, and IFO's but no ISO of the original DVD (as listed above), any help getting this on a DVD I can play in my standalone would be great. The DVD I burned it to plays fine in the PC.

Thanks.

If you have a dvd that's smaller then 4.38 GB just press R in DVD decrypter to create an iso file and after that press W to write it to DVD works flawlesly.

But anyway now you have all your files on your harddisc.

Did you try to play your dvd with ifoedit? Open you video_ts file and see if it plays. If it doesn't play in ifoedit it won't play in your standalone.

If it plays in ifoedit without problem, try the correct get vts button before burning it. What also could cause problems sometimes is files of 0 kb in your directory.

Are these files your mentioning correct?

Seems your missing the vts_02_0.vob?

I guess I am missing the vts_02_0.vob, that may be the cause of the 'invalid title' when I try to play it in my stand alone. The good news here is that the vts_01_0.vob is the same (only in 16:9) so I'll copy and rename that then run it through Ifoedit to get vts sectors and new Ifo's.

Thanks for the help, I was pulling my hair out here.
