CCE crashes when I use AviSynth 2.5 :(

I just installed AVS 2.5 to see if I could get better performance on my DVD backups, but now CCE wont load any avs file. I've tried doing ConvertToYUY2() but that doesn't help. CCE never did this when I was using AVS 2.07... what went wrong?

I'm running Win2k SP3 on an AthlonXP 1900+ processor
avs's open and play fine in media player and Vdub, it seems that only CCE has a problem. :(
