To prevent any further bloodshed on this issue I have started a democratic poll to see where the participants would like to see this going.
The 2 symbols mentioned above (Simplified and Traditional Chinese) have been posted on http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43234&perpage=20&pagenumber=4.
As for suggestions let me write down what is NOT an option:
- Using the ROC flag for Traditional Chinese (this would be a political statement in itself and as I said I leave the politics to politicians, I hope no Taiwanese people will take offense but it's not up to me to determine if the ROC is an independent nation or not and my personal opinion on this is irrelevant).
Also, the chinese.doom9.org/net url is not to be used by either project, it will be used to get to a selection page of some sort hosted and maintained by yours truly. And, for every flag / symbol in the language selection area there will be a mouseover text in English outlining what language you're expecting when clicking on the flag.
