Hi Everyone,
I ,ve been doing SVCD,s with DVD2SVCD for about a year now and I,ve had good times with it. But I,ve just got a DVD burner and so time to move on to DVD to DVD-r. To my surprise its more complicated then DVD to SVCD. Although I'll still be doing DVD2SVCD for my tv captures etc.
I would like to get some help to find out what methods(guides)other people are using for DVD to DVD-r. I basically would want to keep menus and some subs and some audio tracks but strip extras , unwanted subs and unwanted audio tracks. So its a complete backup without the extras, unwanted subs and audio tracks. And then if still not fit onto A DVD-5 then re-encode with my beloved CCE.
Please point me to the right direction.

Thanks in Advance.

Well, there's a couple of packages for doing complete backups. ReDVD is one mentioned on the news page.

Or DVDR2DVDR.

Also, when it comes time to re-encode you'll be happy to know you can used DVD2SVCD to do it for you.

I've done a few this way and it was nice to be using a familiar tool.

Time to close this thread.
The title says nothing about the contents of this post.
This is not an advanced subject.
There is a clear thread in this very forum on how to use DVD2SVCD for DVD-R creation if you choose to try DVD2SVCD for it.
There are plenty of guides on Doom9 if you choose to do it another way.
