Following the advise given to me by Markrb, I post this new thread in hopes that somebody will be able to help me with my problem. I have seen several times this "audio sync problem" or "audio out of sync" or some other variation of the thread. However, I felt inclined to discuss it all over again because (1) I haven't been able to correct it at all, and (2) so other newbies like me (who also don't really know how to use this forum, sorry for that mark :) ) can find the answers they need in an easy way, just as I would like to have found them.

I am working with DVD2SVCD, with CinemaCraft Encoder 2.5 in a PentiumIV 2.4 Ghz 512DDR RAM, Windows XP Professional to rip and encode. I ripped the Barry Lyndon movie, and in the tests I did (I just ripped and encoded the first 5 chapters) I had no sync in audio. Then I decided to look things up and made a few adjustments on the movie offset setting in the bbMpeg tab, tried with 0, 1 and 5 and it didn't work. Either it got further out of sync or it went the other way around (the audio first and the video after).

The sync is lost when playing on PC, and also when playing on the standalone DVD player (Philco) that I have at home. I havenīt tried it on any other DVD player but I have tried both PowerDVD and Intervideo WinDVD and in both the sync is lost.

I will be encoding another movie today, 2001: space oddisey, and I hope all goes well... I'll include later a transcript of the log file but if anyone here has any ideas for my problem please let me know ok?

I am sorry for not being able to provide the log files, but since this is a PC at work I really needed the disk space and I wasn't careful enough not to erase the log files (that take up so little space)...

Thanks, and again, sorry for all the trouble, I hope I am not violating any forum rules... It's just that I had never been to a forum before...

Eduardo

no problem, just next time I recommend not posting until you can provide your log file because there's not much we can do without it.

welcome to the forums, as long as you continue to respect our rules you should have no trouble getting your problems fixed :)
