More people have viewed jdobbs thread on MakeItEasy than ever looked at IfoEdit's Q&A (which has been there for nearly a year)

So ? Do you mean it's a shame that people didn't watch IFOEdit Q&A or do you mean MakeItEasy is THE ultimate tool and IFOEdit can head to the garbage can? or do you mean something else ?
(or did you mean anything at all :D )

Seriously, can you precise you thoughts for sloooow brains like mine ? ;) Thanks.

OK, factoids are meant to be facts "that make you go hmmm..."
But, yes, more people should have read the Q&A, it would have cut down on the questions.
While I think it means MakeItEasy is extremely popular right now, I don't think it's the ultimate tool, at least not in the English sense of the word (which is not only the newest, but also implies it will never be surpassed). If DVD2One does what is promised in a future release then this tool will not be required anymore (that's if)
I look at IfoEdit as being as important as any hex editor/debugger is, and will remain so even if other similar tools are written.

No hmm required, I can give you an explanation. MakeItEasy is in on the frontpage of two rather important DVD ripping resources (one being Oleg's, the other being my own humble site). The IfoEdit Q&A never was. While there's certainly a point to people not being willing to read FAQs, in this particular case it's a matter of exposure.

I 100% agree. We still need it to get rid of our unwanted stuff like logos and FBI warnings. I don't think DVD2One or any other software will ever have an option feature to get rid of these. IFOedit will be around for a long time. :D

There's no comparison between IFOEDIT and MakeItEasy. IFOEDIT is the tool I use when I'm debugging MakeItEasy, because IFOEDIT is always right... MakeItEasy doesn't work without IFOEDIT. IFOEDIT is a multipurpose editor, MakeItEasy does one thing.

As for the ultimate tool (snicker)... If it was so ultimate would I be answering 8000 questions as to why it doesn't always work?

I'm making some more mods today and should post another version tonight. I found the problem that was making "Matrix" fail and possibly some others... I'm also attempting to extend the .VOB size in the padding and automating the pad size.

I, frankly, wish the DVD2one author would just put that simple output filesize feature in and I could dump this tool.

It seems "ultimate" has some strong meaning in English. Well, being French, Maybe I should start using words I know the meaning of :D

Anyway, I never meant to offend you here, and I appreciate to see you are so humble (hope this one means what I think it means) about your work.

My initial question to mpucoder was really sincere, since I did not really understand what he meant. I hope it was not felt as "aggressive" or anything like that, cause it simply wasn't. Neither did I imply any comparison between IFOEdit and MakeItEasy.

Me either. I could sense the "why did you post this? What cosmic significance does it have?" bewilderment. Sometimes I wonder why I post things myself. It really started off as my own amazement at the view count being so high, and I needed a point of reference.

There's no way Make iT easy is better or more useful than IFOEdit..IFOEDIT was the best! it was the greatest utility I ever used. well ok now its kinda dead since derrow joined 321, but back then it was the only way I knew how to backup DVD's.
