How can i add more bass to the soundtrack of a movie? Do i use one of the dynamic range compressions? and what is the ideal type of stereo downmix, surround, or surround 2? and which is the best output mode for 2 audio tracks, exp. track 1: movie soundtrack, track 2: commentary, i have a home theatre, and which sounds the best, stereo, or joint stereo?

First please use the right forum. All questions belong in basics.

You will find many of the answers you seek on the BeSweet homepage or here with the use of a search. In this case you would also be well served to read the audio forum.

Much of what you want cannot be done within the confines of DVD2SVCD. You would have to encode BeSweet seperately.

Also forum rule 12 states:
Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!

However on one of your points I will say stick with Stereo.

This is one of those questions that's over my head....one of the main reasons I haven't released new references. I read so many posts like a month or so ago about dolby pro surround logic II downmix, etc. algorithms it made my head spin. I haven't touched the advanced reference since then. I know it defaults to surround currently rather than stereo but I haven't noticed a difference one way or the other.
See the dolby section and tell me if you don't get confused too.

wow did I say a month? ok maybe three months...October 21st was last time I touched this document...wowsers
