I know at least one of the DVD2One development team visits here, and we are delighted. As you can see, even though DVD2One was intended as a simple and fast "movie only" backup tool, our members are coming up with inventive uses for the program. This was to be expected, as we have been authoring, de-authoring, and re-authoring DVDs for some time now, and it's in our nature to want to continue doing so. Is there any chance of another program being offered that would simply transcode (and optionally remux) video to specified bitrates or file sizes?
Although the audience for such a tool would be smaller than the current products, it would be greatly appeciated by those of us who have struggled with ReMPEG2, CCE, TMPEGenc, and others.

I support this 100%. I haven't tried DVD2One yet, mainly because my DVD-burner hasn't made it's way into the computer yet, but is seems like a very useful program. I do intend to get it once I'm sure my DVD-burner is working correctly. The second thing I think you should make high priority is the ability to split a DVD-9 in two DVD-R.
Good luck.

I think the programme is intended to shrink the movie onto one disc only and to give a relative one click option to dvd backups

In the next version there is going to be an extra option where you can set the desired endsize.

Yes, it will be great.

I've been using this program for about 2 weeks. I use DVD Decrypter to get main movie files onto my hard drive. While DVD Decrypter does highlight the main movies, I also "ctl" click the related .vob .bup and of course the VIDEO_TS.IFO file at the very top. I figure since i'm going to be making jsut a movie only burn I really don't need to wast the cpu time and DVD drives time by ripping the whole thing. Has worked PERFECTLY!:D I have even been contacted by email, from a guy that has been trying not to burn coaster, and I just outlined what I did and he wrote back how happy he is now that he has made a good backup. Considering it's size, it's really something else!
After I rip with DVD Decrypter (USE NEWEST VERSION.. there's a hint in there!!! :) ) I open up DVD2one and click main movie, VIDEO_TS folder, and have pre made a MOVIE_BURN\VIDEO_TS folder already and send it to that destination. pick main movie (longest length) English, no subtitles, no extra languages, and default angle. I don't want to sacrifice space on the dvd for extra stuff like the audio extras, as this can be used to increase the video information.
I finish with DVD2ONE and close.. then open IFOEDIT. This is just icing on the cake. I check the "Get VTS Sectors" but it doesn't have to create any extra links, as DVD2ONE did the linking on the fly. I click "region free" and make the resulting movie region 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, etc. all which is just like I said.. extra goodies...not really needed.
Open up Nero 5.5.10.7 version. use manual mode and click on UDF give name, open write dialogue, click and drag the empty AUDIO_TS folder and the DVD2ONE created files in the VIDEO_TS folder and click burn. When done I check in my set top and has always played. Daughter is very happy. Dad's not buggin her about how good is she treating the DVD !! :D

erm.......
if you are using DVD Decrypter to rip the movie then why are you using IFOEDIT to region free the movie ?
DVD Decrypter has an option built in to do this during the rip....
