This is not related to DVD2SVCD it seems, but more a burning problem.
From what I understood, you added the bin file to your disc contents (I hope I misunderstood here).
Anyway, I suggest you get DVDDecrypter (get it in the downloads section and the guide too) and use it to burn your Cue/Bin file. This should work fine. Switch to ISO in the mode menu, select Write, insert a disk and select your bin file.
You may also use CdrWin to do this.

You don't add a bin file to the SVCD template.
You use File->Burn image, then select the cue file.
Read the Q+A and the Quick guide and FAQ.
Make sure you have the lastest version of Nero.

Please listen carefully :
you DON'T drag the bin file into the rezady to burn window. Bin file is an "image" of you DVD, which means it is a file that was built from the whole contents of the DVD, and that is supposed to be burnt with a software able to read the image file and interpret its contents.
Now you can do this (or at least try) with Nero, but not by dragging the bin file. Instead, use the "burn image" command from the file menu and select youe cue file (you should have a small ".cue" file with the bin file.). Then follow the instructions.
But please use the GUIDES here about burning images available and even a simple SEARCH in the forums will bring you many solutions. So search a bit before asking.
(I still maintain that you should use either DVDDecrypter or CDRWin to burn bin images).

so what seems to be the problem? You made a vcd or svcd? You player can play cd-r or just cd-rw? You best head over to vcdhelp.com dvd compatibility list.

What don't you understand about this?
You best head over to vcdhelp.com dvd compatibility list.
Some players just don't play SVCD's.

what do you mean what dont i understand???...i just said that my dvd player DOES play svcd's i have loads of svcd's that i watch on my stand alone player..but all i wanted to know is why wont this svcd i ripped play on it.
and as i said earlier on i have read over and over the help files in vcdhelp.com.
i dont see why people in here bother to answer questions if they get annoyed when a newbie like myself does not get what they are saying first time.

@spiderman:
Prior to mrbass's post, you hadn't stated yet whether you were working with VCD or SVCD. Prior to Mark's statement, you hadn't stated whether or not you had ever played an SVCD on your standalone. As the threadrolls on along it shows that the presentation of your circumstances was inconsistent, therefore giving the doctors insufficient information with which to diagnose your case. Nobody is picking on you here, I've seen strikes threatened in the past for infractions less severe than this. Re-read your posts and tell me if I missed something or I'm wrong here.
Many older players that will recognize VCD won't do the same with SVCD, so Mark's advice was valid. I'm not picking on you either, and after your last comments, I doubt if any of the parties involved are going to point this out to you.
Good luck

This is the last I will respond to this thread.

Where in the above statement or anywhere in this thread does it say that you have played SVCD's? My and mrbass' advice was to check vcdhelp.com's DVD player list to see if your player plays SVCD's and not VCD's. Just because a player will play a VCD it does not mean it can play SVCD's. It also does not say if there is a media or other issue that if you looked your player up in that list will tell you.
If you still need help from others after checking the DVD compatibility list at www.vcdhelp.com I suggest you read the Mandatory post and give the information that is asked for there.

Spiderman,
Be honest with it and re-read your posts. You never EVER mentioned that your standalone could read SVCDs. You kept saying "my player can read VCDs" and only mentioned SVCD for PowerDVD playback.
Now, since you say your standalone can play SVCDs, it should play this one too. But you will have to post a lot more details if you want to be helped, such as DVD2SVCD log file, information about the original DVD you wanted to backup, and so on.
Also, please consider that four different people here took the time to answer your posts and try to help, you will notice for some of them that they have an impressive number of posts in these forums, which means they already helped a lot of "newbies", so please...keep it cool.
Try to describe your case and not just say "It doesn't work. tell me why."
That's the only way you'll get answers.
