The following software will do what you're looking for:

1. ULead DVD Picture Show (www.ulead.com)
2. FlyVCD (www.iomation.com)
3. PictureToTV (www.PictureToTV.com)
4. Proshow Slideshow Maker (www.photodex.com)
5. Videomach

There are more but I can't remember them all. Anyway, the first 4 are commercial. VideoMach is freeware, and can be download from ZDNet.

ruicarrico,

Also "DVDPhotoPlay" from VCOM. (Most folks probably know VCOM from their popular utilities such as System Commander 7, CD Anywhere, PowerDesk 5, etc.). I think you can download this (http://www.v-com.com/product/dp_ind.html), and there's a free 30-day tryout period.

Another freeware is "Slide Show Movie Maker". This app does not produce VCD or SVCD, but an AVI. I guess you can re-encode this AVI to VCD or SVCD if you want to show your pics on a standalone DVD player. Also this apps only support WAV audio file for background music, so you have to decode your MP3 to WAV if you want background music.

If I remember others I will post, but for now I think you have plenty to try out. There's no perfect one, and so you have to try to see which one you like the best.

Cheers

If you use the solution of WinOnCD/Nero(limitation of 99 photos) you will get the high TV-resolution of 704x576/480. Othe solutions on CD beyond 99 pics have a lower resolution 480x576/480(SVCD) or 352x288/240(VCD) on a cd media. But there are good news: the DVD-R/W burners/medien are getting cheaper and cheaper. The Toshiba SD-5002 is only 220 EUR. The DVD-R is 0.89 EUR per piece. With the DVD-Solution you can get the resolution of 720x576/408 for each picture.
