The normal OGG-DS-Filter by Tobias are able to play 5.1 Vorbis without any problems. It doesn´t include any downmix, so when you want to play 5.1 Vorbis on a stereo sytem you should install the ChannelDownmix filter from http://www.trombettworks.com/directshow.php

But i think 5.1 vorbis is not very usefull atm because of the missing good channelcoupling?
Or is vorbis a good solution for 5.1 at a low bitrate (maybe something around (180k-220k)???

But i think 5.1 vorbis is not very usefull atm because of the missing good channelcoupling? Unfortunately yes, there is no channel-coupling for multichannel Vorbis yet. Also nobody seem to develping it at the moment, I´ve read that that is going to be developed after Theora.

What is channel coupling?

Normally the signal of all channels is more or less identicall and you don´t need to save all information seperatly. Often in the rear/front-channels there is just movie background that is nearly identicall in all speakers and just from center you get voice. Of course sometimes you have different signals in all channels, here channel coupling must be dynamic and keep the all channels separately. Channel coupling means to take advantage of that and reduce filesize by the same quality. If you think now that will destroy the surround effect, you´re wrong, AC3 (Dolby Digital) also uses channel coupling. In mp3 that is normally called "Joint Stereo".
