i want to have selectable subtitles my player do play svcd subs
but have a problem.
here a quick guide:
1. -downloaded a srt file and converted it to ssa (srt to ssa)
2. -with meastroSBT loaded the ssa file
2a. -files save as Submux .sub)
2b. rendering 4bit uncompressed
- output resolution 480x576 (mpeg2 pal/secam svcd)
2c. timing 25fps in 25fps out
2d. segments start of subtitle and end of subtitle (opened ssa file in wordpad)
2e. style default

GENERATE!!

now started WINSUBMUX.
loaded the mpg i made with dvd2svcd
loaded the output of meastrosbt (.sub)
save stream 0 as svcd
save stream 1 as cvd (so i can check whats best for my player)
LOAD ALL
everything going fine so i multiplexed it
in my log everything was oke
(cvd subtitles inserted (731))
(svcd subtitles inserted (731))
- before inserting subtitles mpg size 733 mb
- after inserting subtitles mpg size 761 mb

so i burnt it using NERO (no subs on my dvd standalone)
burnt it with vcdeasy (no subs on my standalone)

anyone have a idea what happened,or someone has a good guide for using MeastroSbt and Winsubmux?

Thnx

did you check it on your pc? it could just be that your standalone does not support selectable subtitles!
check www.vcdhelp.com to see your player's compatibility.

Have you tried muxing either only CVD or only SVCD subs into your stream? Alternatively, try switching stream 0 and 1. Maybe your player is simply not happy with the mixture or placement of sub streams.
It is not possible to check selectable svcd/cvd subs on a PC, no software player supports these.
EDIT: I just read about the XINE cvd/svcd subtitle playback plugin, so maybe there is a possibility after all .. .

I checked whether or not my DVD Player supports Selectable Subs or not and it does, just not CVD, I went to that link that was posted. I've been making SVCD;s using DVD2SVCD and my subtitles have not been showing up, now you said something about switching the position and the stream, would you mind elaborating on that a little bit about how that works, the Stream Numbers etc... Help would be very appreciated...

Update* DvD Player Supports CVD Subtitles, the positioning was set wrong, I don't think anyone cares...?
