Hi.
I have ripped a movie on my hard disk and I have found the subtitles to contain a lot of spelling listakes so I decided to correct them. I ripped them using the OCR of Subrip and then saved them to an .srt file that was afterwards opened through Word, spell-checked, and then saved. Now I tried to convert the saved .srt file to .sub, using SubRip converted, however the output .sub file cannot load through VobSub. Why is that ? How can I make VobSub load the .srt file ?
Thanks...

Do you mean VobSub through avisynth or DirectVobSub while watching movie? In any case it should be opened without problems if subtitle is in correct format. If you deleted some wrong line that could be problem or you saved your srt file in Word .doc format.

First of all, thanks for the reply.
I mean for use through Avisynth\vobsub to permanently encode them on the film. I have uploaded the .srt and the .sub file that was created from it. I don't know what to check, so maybe someone more experienced could help me out by telling me if those files are indeed ok.

For srt use the textsub(..) function in avisynth, it is in textsub.vdf, or in vsfilter.dll for the newer release.

Since I am a complete newbie when it comes down to Avisynth scripts, I did a little search and finally created a script that works correctly in VDub.
What want to ask now is this : What if have to put the subtitles of the .srt file lower than they already are. I used VobSub Configuration in order to do that for the .sub files but now I have no clue on how to do it with textsub.
Any help ?
Thanks.

Try using VobSub 2.23 . Inside is program SubResynch. With it you set font size and position where to display subtitle. When you done save your work over existing subtitle file and there will be created new file (beside your subtitle) with extension .style . Now it will work like you defined .

P.S. Sorry for bad english:(

I have installed Vobsub 2.23 and have found it to be buggy, so I will stick with version 2.18 for now. However, Vobsub 2.18 also has subresynch but it doesn't have any option to correct the position of subtitles.

When you open SubResynch and your subtitle click on Edit. There is option Screen Alignment . There you can position your subtitle. There is also Margin where you can define margin for subtitle. By default bottom margin is 20 but you can set it higher (like 50) to get your subs up.
Hope this will help.
