I think it's my first problem with subtitles,
I've been doing ripping about 250 dvds and this is my first problem. :(

The DVD is perfectly sync, Video+Audio+Subtitle :)

It's Ice Age Region 1 DVD,

I rip use DVD Decrypter 3.0.1.4 with Stream processing,
I demux only the English AC3 to external file, and the video and
English Subtitle is still on the VOBs, not demux to external files.

I rip the subtitle use SubRip 1.14, all with default setting,
the output format is .SRT.

The Video+Audio is perfectly sync.. no problem,
but the .SRT is out of sync after in about the middle of the movie.
PS. Subtitle playback use DVobSub 2.23.

Anyone have problem with Ice Age ?

Thank you.

Bingo!

I hope it's not related with the DVDDecrypter 3.0.14 bug
as I post on other forum ;(

LightningUK confirm me that it's not DVDDecrypter bug,
so I think it's related to the SubRip's bug, I hope Zuggy
read this thread.
Thank you.

If I rip the DVD in .IFO mode and choose the "Stream Processing",
then I choose the desire stream usually, the video, audio (.AC3) english, and subtitle English. And I DON'T choose "Demux" the
AC3 stream to external file. So the video+ac3+subtitle is still
in the result .VOB(s).
Then I use SubRip (v1.14) to parse the subtitle from the result .VOB(s) so I save the subtitle result into subtitle1.srt

Then...
I rip again the same DVD with the same setting above except for the
.AC3 I CHOOSE "demux" . So the result .VOB(s) in only containing
video+subtitle. Then I use the same SubRip setting to these .VOB(s)
and I save the subtitle into subtitle2.srt.

After I compare the subtitle1.srt and subtitle2.srt
is not the same. The subtitle2.srt in about the middle of the movie
is somehow speed up about 2 minutes in my case of Ice Age R1 DVD.

That's why if I rip with the second method, I always got the subtitle
out of sync. but if I use the first method, the subtitle is sync perfectly.

Hi
You know I have your problem also.

Anybody help ?

I just not demux the .ac3 into external file and keep it in the VOBs.
Then use DVD2AVI to demux it, even this method is simply wasting
my HD space for "double" .ac3 :(

But at least the subtitle is sync perfectly.

Edit:

There's new version of SubRip 1.15,
http://zuggy.wz.cz/

I'm gonna test it.

It's stated in readme of SubRip.
SubRip cannot process well the sub+nav-stripped vobs in some cases.
Why? - doc.txt.

It's not DVD Decrypter's bug. It's because SubRip cannot use all the values provided by IFO at moment.

But try VobSub and then SubResync/SubRip, VobSub does it right.

@zuggy,

Thank you for the confirmation,
so I'll never demux the .ac3 again from the DDVDecrypter, let it be in the VOB(s) and let the DVD2AVI demux it. at least it's save. :)
