- Use TMPGEnc to demux the audio
- Use a decoder to decode to WAV
- Use the WAV as input to VirtualDub

Sorry guys, but how do you do this? This is my first time so please be patient. I too have the same audio decode error message but unlike PKmonk I don't understand the 3 points above.
Ok, I understand No. 1) how to Demux in TMPEnc. The resulting audio file has been converted to a Mp2, is that correct?
2) How do I decode to a WAV? with what software?
3) Then I need to use the WAV as input to virtualdub. Not sure how to do this. Don't I need to DeMux again?
Is there a detailed guide to show me how to fix my mpeg?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Elle :)

Any mp3 decoder should be able to decode the mp2 to a WAV file. (IIRC there's a plugin for WinAmp that will do this.)
After you have the WAV, open the original MPEG file in VirtualDub but choose "Audio->WAV audio" to use your WAV file.
