Suddanly I get burning failure at the end of burning.
Had it some time ago...reformatet and everything was fine again.
Now it's back...the burning fails at least one of two sessions...
I figure it must be something I install....
got a few of the progs on this site.....
anyone have a clue?
got a plextor scsi burner using nero running win2k

so you got yourself some new coasters huh?
what speeds your burner? how old is it?
what kinda cd-rs are you tryen to use?
what software you using to burn? ezcd, nero, something else?
is there a read error, or write errors?
first you should try to turn down the speed of your burn, second you should try diffrent cd-rs.
maybe you should run a cd lens cleaner.
i have a few cd-rs that my burner doesnt like and will coaster then all day long but if i use tdk cd-rs i never get a coaster.

The burner is pritty old.
From the time when scsi burners rocked the IDE burners.
The strange here is that I've had this before.
I reformated and everything was fine.
I've burned 100's of cd's since then with no errors, and now suddenly theres error.
burning with nero only...memorex and mmore at 4x (max8)
the errors are always in the end....

I'm getting write errors at the end only with VERBATIM DataLife CD-Rs with my TEAC 12x burner.
All other brands work just fine.

i few tips i found that work:

make sure you have alot of free space on your hdd , i know that may sound stupid as thats probably what you are backing up for , but it helps (dont ask why...anyone?). if i get coasters i normally first check media for visual errors , dust , scratchs , ink pealing (dont ask...DAMN YOU CHEAP CDS AND DAMN THE GUY WHO SOLD THEM ME!!!) sorry , sorry ... oh and then i turn down write speed, i then delete thing are are not vital on the hhd to increase space, if i still get errors i defrag my hdd and then run at 4x etc . does you drive support simulate? saved me a few cds that has.

its a cd with small little brushes on it that spins and sweeps over the lens to remove any dust that maybe on the eye. you should be able to find then at about any store that sell cds. they cost around 9 bucks.
