I'm having lots of 'fun' with my new Philips DVD recorder. Each DVD+RW has a VIDEO_TS VOB that contains the raw menu data - typically three still screens, each with a subpic. I'm looking to rip these menus.
Can one of you lovely people let me know what the best tool is that will give me these three stills, and their respective subpics, in a Photoshop/Maestro compatible format?
Sounds pretty basic, but I've never had to rip menus before!

It's a long way of doing it I guess, but I normally just rip the VIDEO_TS.VOB, create a project file using DVD2AVI, then open the d2v in TMPG. From here I go to the preview option which shows a preview at full size. Then I hit the print screen key on the keyboard, paste it in a new file in photoshop, then crop it. As for subpics, I normally just recreate these myself.

Its been a long time since I last had to re-create menu's but as far as i recall, VOBrator will demux the video_ts.vob file into all the elements you require..

Well, DVD2AVI will let me produce stills of each menu, so no problem there.
But how do I convert the sub picture into a Photoshop or Maestro compatible file? VOBrator doesn't do this to the best of my knowledge...

Try Sub Rip to extract subpicture from menu! You can extract as a full sized .bmp.
