real player basic 8 will play the new rmvb(real media variable bit?) format if you let it download the new codecs, however.....
pros, no monster download and install of realone player with all the dvd software, ripping and encoding software, browser, and everything else i dont use.
you can still watch any of the streaming real content on the web with real player 8.
cons, the real player basic 8 isnt as advanced as the real one player so the quality may drop a little when watching your rmvb clips, and the real one player may stream better then the real player 8.
but if you install the real player 8 and let it download the rv9 codecs you can play your rmvb clips in the media player classic.
ive heard the next version of the realone player will be much better, so im waiting........

is there any way to allow realone/realplayer to stretch to window instead of leaving 2 black strip left & right of the picture when i play a 352x288 readmedia files.
and for some reason i can't play rmvb with media classic player, it play plain rm fine though.

if you want media player classic to play rmvb you have to have the codecs to play rmvb installed.

I know, i already installed realone, but realone can't change the picture to cover the whole screen.

wata, what are you smokin? Load up a clip in RealOne, hover the mouse over the image, and you should get some zooming options pop up: 1x, 2x, and fullscreen. At least that's what I get.

Do you ever play a PAL clip 352x288 in full screen mode with realone player, there is no option to stretch the video to cover the WHOLE screen.

With the media classic player you can choose --> video frame --> stretch to window
