Is it possible to extract an MPEG2-file from a DVD without reencoding?

I know it is possible to strip the ifo/vobs for unwanted material to burn them on DVDR, but I want to to use the mpg-file with my own menus and stuff.

I would like to get the movie as I can get the AC3-file, without having to reencode.

Hi,

You can use the great tool called DoitFastforyou (see the downloads section), it will extract all the necessary files from the DVD (including m2v).

You can also directly use DVDDecrypter to do this if you don't care about the other files (audio, etc...)

Hope this helps

You can also use demultiplexer in tools section of TMPGEnc and/or vStrip...

Thanks for all the replies! I seems like DoitFastforyou is what I need.
