Hi,
I have done some searching for this but would appreciate some more views on the matter.
Firstly I have authored a PAL DVD using the following method....
1/
capture from PAL Hi8 tape using Hauppauge PVR Mpeg2 capture card.
2/
Imported into Ulead Videostudio and edited.
3/
Imported into Ulead DVD Workshop and authored the menus etc.
4/
Burned to disc using DVD Workshop.

I would now like to convert to NTSC to send to a friend in the U.S.
Is there a simple way to do this ? or could I re-author the project within DVD Workshop.
DvD workshop gives you the option for authoring in Pal or NTSC but doesn't say if you can start with a PAL source file for an NTSC project.

Once again thanks to all on the board for all the help I have received in the past.
Yours Sincerely
Darren

The short answer is that it is possible, but is fraught with problems! :(

You cannot simply import PAL material into a DVD authoring program and expect to generate an NTSC-compliant project/disk just by ticking the "NTSC project" option during the authoring process. Sorry for the bad news :(
