I've tried Ifoedit in Linux and it seems to funct. I only need two great helps.
1) Has anyone been able to use the function DVD-Play in Ifoedit
2) How can otherwise preview the result (i.e. with which software i can load VIDEO_TS.IFO and navigate in menus like if it were a real dvd)?
Please, I really need it to 'format' my win partition....

You could use xine player with the dvdnav plugin to preview the dvd while its on your hdd.
http://xine.sourceforge.net for xine
http://dvd.sourceforge.net for the dvdnav plugin and libs.

thx a lot. I'll try asap.
By the way, any solution for dvd play? I also try to install vmware, but had problems also in that case always only for that function.
Thx again

I use xine for all dvd playback either from dvd disc or hdd, to play from your dvd drive you need two libs, libdvdcss and libdvdread, with libdvdcss you can play encrypted discs as well. both libs can be found at ..

thx again. I've tried installing xine-dvdplay, and after several problems (revision compatibility for libdvdnav, xine-lib. xine-ui, libdvdread) I've been able in installing it but no correct playback. Don't worry, I'll solve it later alone.
Maybe I'll give a try to ogle or mplayer to see if less difficult.
Thx

solved anything.
Now I can use Ifoedit for editing and Ogle for trying playback.
I found Ogle impressive: a few Kb, very simple to install (also rpm) and functions very well, either from dvd device or hd!
Too happy now, thanks
