black screen after 8 minutes

at random spots in my encoding of lotr from divx to dvd compliant with tmpgenc the video stops encoding

its usually around the 7-8 minute area. im using seperate audio and video so the audio keeps encoding while the video goes black. so all i have after 8 minutes is a 4 gig file with 8 minutes of video and an hour and a half of sound. does anyone know what this problem may be....

i played the source avi and its fine.....playback is perfect...any ideas?

Just to let you know your not the only one who has that problem.

i managed cd1 fine, but cd2 either goes black after a while of tmpeg errors (invalid pointer)?
