ripping error.what is it?

ASPI Command Error!

Its an 'unrecovered read error'.
Pretty much meaning exactly what it says....the drive was unable to read that sector.
Normally this is due to dirt on the disc, or a scratch or something.
The disc may also be damaged in which case you should return it and get it exchanged.

Lightning, I've discovered this exact error on guess what, discs that I had burned in the past that had problems with skipping or freezing towards the end of the movie. If I try to copy the files using explorer then I get a cyclical redundancy error. I had this problem, skipping-freezing towards the end, with most any kind of media, quality or crap. The problem has pretty much gone away since I've exclusively used Prassi and made some firmware upgrades. Feel free to interperet and let me know what you think.
