after following the guide to split a dvd into 2 dvdrs i've been successful everytime except for the movie SIGNS.
After ripping with dvd decrypter, i am able to watch the movie with powerdvd, yet splitting the dvd results in 2 discs that do not play from the harddrive. What happens is it tries to load then stops, never really seeing a picture.
anyone have any ideas what i'm doing wrong? thanks in advance!

When I tried backing my Signs movie, I encountered a similar problem. The movie actually fits on one DVD+R with extremely ood quality. I posted this on another thread and it worked fine for me. Here is what I did:
I used IfoEdit and stripped everything except Audio 1 and SubPicture 1 (only kept English sub-titles).
Next I used VobSplit and cut off the ending credits. I used "size to copy" of 251008000 bytes as my cutoff. This allowed me to fit all VOB on 1 disk. VobSplit is extremely easy to use plus there are a lot of guides out there.
I wasn't able to use Nero to burn the copy. I was getting a "Reallocate Structure Error" so I used ImgTool to burn the backup. Make sure you uncheck Reallocate VIDEO_TS Structure.
If you do this, the backup will fit on one disk with really good quality. Also, I am using Maxell DVD+R media to record. The backup works perfect on all stand alone players.

If you need to tweak your Sign's menu, read this. All my cheat sheets are found in IFOedit forum.
