hi i've got panasonic rv62 standalone player which is "able" to play dvd-r. deep deep inside manual you can find information about compatibility of this player. this system is able to play dvd-r which was recorded and finalized on panasonic dmr-e20. where is the diference between f.e. dvd decrypter iso file burning and the panasonic style? i'm a little bit angry because i cant read memorex, panasonic, pioneer, sentinel, intenso.....discs. and those same discs works fine on the other panasonic dvd players.

If my memory suits me right, the panasonic dmr-e20 records the disc as region 0, where as the info edit/dvd decrypter sets the disc to be all-region.

I know it doesn't sound like much of a difference, but i encountered a similar problem, except ti was the reverse way round. DVD player would play my all-region dvd decrypter rips, but not finalised dmr-e20 discs (same media was used for each). To get around this we just updated the firmware on the standalone player and all is good now.

goto panasonics website, and see if they have one to download. If not email them for one.

For standalone players firmware upgrades are dead simple. Just download the upgrade, write it onto a cdr/rw, insert it into the player, and it will automatically start flashing the internal firmaware.
