Just got some Ritek in and wanted to try them out. I backed up Stuart Little2. Burned to the disc with PrimoDVD as normal. When i play it in home player it starts to pixelate and skip then freezes. On my computer it seems to play fine. I burned at 1x with my Pioneer104 w/ firmware 1.32. Would upgrading to firmware 1.4 correct this pixelation? Normally i burn with Verbatim and never had one problem. Any ideas???

There are 2 sets of numbers on this disk. 1 set of number is printed on the inner clear ring (E6-6L16212174514A01) and the other set of numbers is on the border of the clear inner ring and the purple dye - DR-47GL16-00725. Can Those #'s tell what brand they are to make sure there Riteks?

To tell the manufacturer id.
1) Download DVD decrypter from www.doom9.org
2) Insert a blank DVD-R into your recorder.
3) Run dvd decrypter.
4) Select mode>iso>write
5) On the right hand side block you should see the following:

Where did you get these Ritek's from?

They don't sound like regular Riteks. Do they have a completely clear inner ring, or is part of the ring a little foggy. Riteks have the inner ring, where the serial number is, is completely clear and the outer part of the ring is a bit foggy. I've seen Riteks with C1-xxxx or E5-xxxx but not E6-xxxx.
Also I've never noticed Riteks having a number etched on the dye side. I DO remember the Vivastar's the Shop4Tech was passing off as PrimeDisc's, they had a number etched on the dye.
Could they be Ritek G4's instead of G3? (2x versus 4x)

Did you try playing it on your PS2??
I have had such good luck with Riteks, I don't know why the ones you got appear to be bad.
Which vendor did you get them from??

what model is your home player?
did you burn the video_ts folder directly with priomdvd or did you create a .img file?

Well i think its my fault on that burn. Cause i tried another movie and it plays perfect. Also backed up a PS2 game and it works fine. On that movie i was having trouble with i used ifoedit to delete some items. Its the intro that has problems but the movie is fine if i skip over the intro. My home player is the Toshiba sd1200. When i use PrimoDVD i burn the folder directly. Works everytime and is a great program.
