Asking for a help from more experienced users:

During last year I tried many times to create .ogm movies with
different types of audio ogg, ac3, aac.
It is always a pleasure to watch, how seek works with .ogm stream, also chapters are making great and positive difference.
The problem is, I never had an .ogm movie without garbled frames, strange timeshifts and even some object displacements.
There are some threads discussing these problems but still no
clear answers or solutions to this problem.
I always used newest verion of OggMux or VDubMod.
Video stream was always encoded with DivX5.02 codec and without artefacts.

Does anybody have understandig, what is happening in .ogm muxing process and is there a way to avoid those strange artefacts ?

The DivX 5.02 decoder has this strange behaviour when decoding from .ogm, just use ffdshow (free and better decoder) and your problem automagically disappear.

Thanks, I will try ffdshow with .ogm's.
Still, ffdshow decoding quality has always been worse with 5.02 encoded movies than "original" DivX 5.02 decoding quality.
Though, "flickering" is almost gone with latest ffdshow version.

Yes, indeed, ffdshow fixed the problems with garbled frames in .ogm streams and the same applies to 3ivx filter.
Who knows, what DivX 5.02 decoding does wrong but it does.
Interesting, that this problem shows up only in .ogm stream, not in
ususal avi.
