I'm a Win98 SE user and I'm having MAJOR problems trying to fix bad frames in DivX MPEG-4 encoded movies. I always get the BSOD every time the program finishes defreeze, and upon rebooting, the supposedly fixed file is either 0 bytes in size or it loses its audio. I only have DivX 5 installed. What should I do?

I think DivX 5 with B-frames on has sometimes a problem when it comes over subsequent frames that go from almost black to almost white. (For example one frame is the negative image to the next frame). It completes encoding allright but the AVI freezes under playback. I experienced this about 27 minutes into Walt Disneys Pocahontas and also with the trailer of Beautiful Mind. Encoding with B-frames turned off solved the problem for me.
